Sharing your worldly thoughts with other people means that you want to impose yourself and your thoughts in order to win the glory of the world. When you confess them to your spiritual father, you do it as a sign of censure. This is how you get rid of them.

Before doing anything we should think if it is according to God’s will and what its real motivation is. Then we should confess openly to God anything that we did, said or anything you have eaten. Do not ever begin anything without thinking before if it is according to God’s will so that you won’t be sorry afterwards. This means being in communion with God, regarding everything, not only after you did it but before. Do not let yourself driven only by your personal guide. Do not ever feel alone. God can foresee everything so ask Him about anything you want to do. Thus you will be in a permanent relationship with Him and you will not fear in the day of the Last Judgement.

A person needs to reveal his evil thoughts in order to relieve himself of them. People need help and advice, because communication is an act of humbleness.
