Nourishment for our soul
The bread and water of our soul come from above, from heaven, because they are to this day nourishment for those who advance towards salvation.
Our life is like a journey that sometimes takes us into the desert. This world is sometimes a desert for our soul, because we can barely find something for nurturing our soul. In order to feed our soul, we need to ask and receive as the Israelite, bread and water from above. The bread and water of our soul come from above, from heaven, because they are to this day nourishment for those who advance towards salvation.
Do you know what it means? Jesus says it so beautifully: “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever” (John 6:35,51). “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:37-38). This is even to this day, the “mana” of those who advance towards heavenly homeland. Without it, we cannot advance towards salvation.
