Why Can’t I Feel God’s Love?
Cheap love seeks profit and Christians in this situation enjoy the world to the limit of their damnation.
Meaning that they want to eat until midnight before the beginning of lent (five to midnight) and enjoy the worldly pleasures up the limit of their damnation and then they wonder why they cannot feel the love of God (in their cheap love).
We all talk about love (and so do I) but we don’t know the worth of our love. If Christ would say just to try us “My sons, Heaven is filled and there is no more room for you!” – so that we know the worth of our love – some of us would say “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?!” And others would run to have fun and don’t waste a minute, forgetting about Christ.
But those who truly love Christ would tell Him “Don’t worry for us! We are happy that Heaven is full. It makes us so happy as if we already were in Heaven!” and would go on with their spiritual struggle with joy for the One Who they love so much.
Valuable love (ardent), that makes sacrifice, does not feed from the world but from the love of God. And then, man’s life becomes an eternal fasting and all his days are a continual paschal joy.
