Your children need to be educated as well.

Your children need to be educated as well. And their education needs not to be limited to the wisdom and culture of this world. They should learn in the same time about the heavenly knowledge and the supreme truth. They should learn about the law of God and Christ’s commandments, learn about godliness, about the right path towards God and to remember about Him. A mother, the most loved person for a child, source of affection and tenderness prays before the icon of Jesus. The child looks at the mother, then at the icon, and does not need many explanations for what happens in front of him. This is the first tacit lesson of the knowledge of God.

“And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life”.

True is the word of God. I assure you that when I have entrusted my children to the Lord, He took care of them. My children grew up decently and I don’t think I could have cared for them better. God gave me a hundred more children, He gave me your children. He gave me your hearts, because I know how much you love me and I answer your love with my ardent love. God gave me this many children!

Only then your children will not be lost on the path of worldly knowledge and above all, will have the guidance of the Christian wisdom, the knowledge of God. This is how we should educate our children.

You will be responsible in front of God for the bad things that your children have learned from you, for the arguments between spouses that took place in front of them, for the useless words they have heard from you. If you, parents do this, then what can your children learn from you?

From a young age you need to start their education because only then children easily accept advice. Their heart is as a soft wax in which every word of yours is embossed: good and bad things, good and bad words.

“A young stem will bend in the direction that you want. Whether a new vessel will spread a beautiful fragrance or a bad smell depends on what you put in it, fragrance or dirt” (Saint Tihon of Zadonsk).

A mother, the most loved person for a child, source of affection and tenderness prays before the icon of Jesus. The child looks at the mother, then at the icon, and does not need many explanations for what happens in front of him. This is the first tacit lesson of the knowledge of God as well as the most important lesson of piety. These are the lessons that you can and need to offer your children.

There is no bigger responsibility for a mother, for which she will be judged by God, than the education of her children. If you have neglected it, you will have to tell God the reason. And here is where your torment begins and you will weep and cry seeing what your children do.

Thus, “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones” (Matthew 18:10). You shall take care of your children and be an example of an authentic Christian life and the grace of God will be upon you and your children now and always.
