He should ask God what to do and he should also ask for determination. There is no other way. Otherwise he will be firm for a month and then he will fall even lower that before. This is the work of devil, to start a job without God. Without Him we cannot do anything. Nothing! And we should start from our level, from our helplessness and not from the heights of our expectations. A true Christian will make the sign of the cross at all times, no matter what he is doing. Why? Because he wants to start everything with God, with His power instead of his helplessness. And we wonder that we cannot fulfil a certain task. This signals how little is our faith. We should wonder how can we even think about doing something without the help of God!

Therefore make the sing of cross and say “Lord, give me determination!”, and stop thinking whether you are or not determined but cry to God so you are with him always.
