We do need joy, as for this reason we were created by God. But spiritual joy is not same as the joy of this world. True spiritual joy means having a free heart, filled with the peace of Jesus. We have spiritual joy when we free ourselves from the dominion of the enemy, of evil thoughts and temptation
Jesus’ name is sweet when summoned, it casts out demons and brings angels back, and makes the heart and mind to be gentle with others. But if you are not there yet, follow the rule of prayer in the prayer book, for calling in prayers the name of God, you call Christ, Virgin Mary, Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, God the Father, the Saints, all martyrs.
Loneliness isolates you, makes you helpless, and prevents your spirit to enjoy the good things of this world, especially those of the spiritual world, while life in community saves you from many difficult situations. Nobody achieves salvation on their own, not even the monks, or priests or good Christians. All of us achieve salvation in community, in the bosom of Christ’s Church and we all are responsible of the others.
